Multiple Alcohol Induced PersonalitiesJanuary 6, 2012
It’s a simple question. Do we all have multiple alcohol induced personality disorders?
I tried to do some research on whether different alcohols can have different effects on us from a purely chemical perspective but without much success. The same old stories we’ve all been telling about “whiskey anger” and “tequila craziness” seem to come up over and over again but without real consistency or explanation. People getting a little touchy after a few shots of brown liquor. Ladies going cat fight crazy after a few gin and tonics. I’m not saying it’s not true, but it’s a phenomenon I’d love to get to the bottom of.
My feeling is that much like our connection to food, different types of booze take on particular roles in our life. So maybe it’s the association to a certain alcoholic beverage that brings out our inner characters. Luckily for me, I think most of those connections are extremely positive. In fact, I happen to think I’m quite enjoyable while enjoying a bunch of red wine with the Gordons or sipping down a good bourbon with the Noblers. Either way, it seems if no one else is going to do the hardcore research, its gonna be up to us…
What about you guys? Any major personality swings from booze to booze? Any vodka fist swingers or rum punch lushes out there?
